King Size Bed
The top floor of Howell River House belongs to The Overlook Room — a full private suite tucked beneath the pitched roofline that feels like its own world. The bedroom sits under a sloped ceiling, with a king bed dressed in hand-illustrated Western ranch linens depicting cowboys, cattle, and open-range scenes, flanked by rustic cross-base lamps on live-edge nightstands. A timber-framed window beside the bed opens to the snow-dusted hills and evergreens of the Snake River corridor. Step through and the room opens into a generous living area with two upholstered armchairs, a cushioned window seat with valley views, a bamboo game table for four, a mid-century walnut credenza, and a large wall-mounted TV — more than enough space to settle in for an evening after a long day on the mountain or the river. The dormer windows on both sides fill the room with natural light and frame the landscape from multiple angles. There's no en-suite bathroom on this level, but what it lacks in plumbing it makes up for in privacy — this is the room couples fight over, and the room teenagers disappear into for the entire trip.
